4 months…
…have passed since the last post, boy.
We moved to Wales in July 2011, our oen 2 bedroom bungalow on an estate near to my old school (but not too near!),
We struggled to cope at first with all the space we suddenly had, and with the extra responsibility, but now we are getting in our stride.
Financially, we’re ok - it is tough at the end of each month as A LOT of money gets paid out, but we survive, and we are hopefully getting benefits soon. I have to say that even though it’s been hard, we’ve done our best, and at the end of the day the best is all we want.
My friend, Dan, has approached us about having his two kittens (for free), and in 5 weeks I’ll be going with Natalie to Oxford to establish if we can actually manage them. We should by then have our benefits, so getting the essentials should be less of a financial drain. and as they are used to toddlers they will be fine if we have a child.
I am unemployed (still!). A friend of the family kindly informed me that I would not get my old job back, as they are looking at closing a few libraries, but I’m hoping that I can find something in Chester or Liverpool or something once the finances have calmed.
There’s probably more, but I’ve forgo, ah, yes, Mum. I’ve regretted coming back to Wales purely because I knew my Mum would start trying to control (us) me again, and in part she has, An £80 food shop 2 weeks ago nearly crippled us - we went for 1 day without meals *just* to make the food last. The thing is, Natalie’s Mum just lets us get on with it, and so do the rest of her family. Why mine don’t is beyond me, but in the last 4 months Natalie has matured and become a proper lady and wife, and her family are proud, Me, on the other hand, Well, I can’t seem to do anything right (and nor can Natalie), and it makes us longer to move out (which is not what we want at the end of the day. So, What can we do? Nothing? No. Doing nothing means we are in a rut, and we don’t want that. If you feel you can give some advice, please comment or send me an email.
Finally, My Cerebral Palsy is getting steadily worse, I might end up next week going to Halford’s and buying a wheelchair, as walking distance and standing a great length of time is hurting me considerably. All this could have been alleviated if Glan Clwyd Hospital’s Ortotics department wasn’t so slack in dealing with referrals from GP’s. Grrr.
DFTBA, I’ll post again sometime soon.
